Welcome to 1st grade of Early Childhood Education.

Attending school represents the first step for children away from their family environment and, therefore, a departure from familiar reference models. Even for those who have previously attended daycare or preschool, it requires an effort to adapt to new spaces, rhythms, routines, peers, and adults with whom they will need to establish relationships.

The adaptation period is “the path or process through which children develop, from an emotional perspective, the loss and gain that comes with separation, until they voluntarily reach an internal acceptance of it.”

It is important to consider that not all students are the same; therefore, the adaptation process varies for each child. We must avoid comparisons. Each child needs their own time to better assimilate the new situation they are experiencing.

Parental collaboration is very important, as together we help children see school as a place that provides security, confidence, meets their needs, stimulates them, and ultimately, where they can develop and grow HAPPY.

Below, I am sharing various photographs of your children during their first days at school.

“A picture is worth a thousand words.”

Best regards,
Laura.
