Every 9 May we celebrate Europe Day, a day to remember that same day in 1950 Robert Schumann established the foundations of the European Union under two basic principles: peace and solidarity.
This day has become the European symbol, which together with the single currency (Euro), the flag and the anthem identify the political entity of the European Union.
In our school, as we do every year, we celebrate it organizing different activities to help our pupils learn more about the history of Europe.
This year, we worked on the most iconic monuments of the different countries on this continent. The little ones also colored the European flag. Before doing the different activities, we researched the countries that make up Europe, their currencies, their national anthems, and their flags.
It was a great activity where we learned interesting things!
