On February 14, we celebrated Ash Wednesday. As a Catholic school, the boys and girls from 4th, 5th, and 6th grade, along with some teachers, attended the imposition of ashes that took place at 12 p.m. at the Church of San Pascual.
During the celebration, our parish priest, Eduardo, explained very well the meaning of Lent and its fundamental pillars: prayer, fasting, and almsgiving. They also listened attentively to Jesus’ words in the Gospel, which encouraged them to help others and to do good quietly, without boasting.
After the blessing of the ashes, Eduardo marked the forehead of each one with the sign of the cross.
Once the celebration was over, students and teachers returned to their classrooms and tasks, encouraged and determined to change in order to become better people every day.
